The staff and treatment at Cascade acupuncture has exceeded my expectations every time. I’ve been getting acupuncture for over 25 years and I always walk out of their feeling satisfied deeply nourished and rested. They take time to listen and the space is very comfortable and therapeutic. I would highly recommend the service to anyone. In general, I believe acupuncture is such a profound treatment for my body, heart and soul. Additionally, they have always tried to get me in last minute when they can and have been accommodating of schedule changes. They are warm and friendly. It’s refreshing to have them as An integral part of my wellness team. Thank you!! 🫶🏼

Highly recommend! If you are thinking about giving acupuncture a chance, do it! Shamsa and her expertise in acupuncture are incredible. My symptoms have significantly reduced, and I am beginning to feel whole again. Go in with an open mind and heart, and you will start to see and feel your body begin to heal itself.

I always have been curious about acupuncture and finally got to experience it after my doctor recommended it for a frozen shoulder. The acupuncture therapist also addressed an occasional, undiagnosed breathing restriction I have been experiencing under a heavy cardio load. I was blown away by the results and haven’t had any breathing issues ever since the acupuncture treatments. I also received massages which helped immensely with releasing the tight muscles and coupled with acupuncture I felt like a 20-year-old after every appointment. It might be more obvious to feel the instant benefits from a massage but if you pay attention, you just might feel the acupuncture doing its “magic” as it is awakening your body’s responses to free up natural healing mechanisms. I did feel it and it was an amazing experience during the procedure followed by results far beyond my imagination. Both the massage therapist and the acupuncture therapist have helped me through a couple of projects which involved a lot of heavy lifting and repetitive, non-ergonomic movements. And they have helped me regain my athletic aspirations by opening my airways. They know what they are doing and they do it with so much kindness and grace. Thank you Shamsa, Katy and Cinthya. You are the best!

I cannot recommend Shamsa enough. I started seeing her for a persistent hamstring issue, and her treatments have been by far the best I’ve experienced. She is incredibly knowledgeable, attentive, and truly takes the time to understand what your body needs. Not only have I noticed significant improvement physically, but I also leave each session feeling genuinely cared for. Her approach is thoughtful, professional, and effective. The entire team at Cascade Acupuncture is also amazing — welcoming, kind, and committed to creating such a positive experience from the moment you walk in. If you are dealing with pain, injury, or just looking for someone who is highly skilled in acupuncture, I highly recommend Shamsa and the team at Cascade Acupuncture.

The Dalles is lucky to have a super-star healer whom many likely haven't heard of; I learned recently she's been here just a year. I can't recommend Dr. Shamsa Houck highly enough. She's a highly-skilled acupuncturist and one of the kindest people you'll meet. This matters when someone is sticking needles into you :) (really, if you're new to acupuncture, it's no big deal!). Her treatments have helped restore my energy levels and immune functioning. In regular sessions, she's super-thoughtful about treating whatever is of concern that session. She generously shares information and treatment principles. Also, the clinic offers simplified, low-cost "Happy Hour" packages which make treatment affordable for people like me on a budget or without insurance. If you've never had acupuncture, I encourage you to try it out. The treatments seem to be cumulative - I've gotten the most help by going every one to two weeks. Again, I'm grateful Dr. Shamsa offers this high level of care in The Dalles. (I've been to numerous acupuncturists over the years, so have a basis for comparison!)

I went to see Shamsa Houck and Katy after some minor injuries and just general body/emotional pain from the trials of life at the time and let mw tell you. The acupuncture appointment was one of the best experiences and naps I've had with receiving Healthcare. The massage was super helpful on releasing these huge knots I had and relaxing in general. Both were communicative in what they planned to do and consistently checked in throughout their respective processes if I was still comfortable/if I felt I needed something different. I dont want to go anywhere else for acupuncture or massage.

My experience at The Dalles Acupuncture was exceptional. I was in unbearable pain from a pinched nerve in my neck and trying everything. Shamsa Houck treated my pain with experience and professional knowledge. She knows exactly what to do to relieve the pain, she listens and cares. It is the only relief that allowed me to get through the horrible pain I was experiencing. If you are in pain, schedule an appt. with Shamsa, you will not be disappointed!!

I have had many different acupuncturists give me treatments before but I have never had such a remarkable treatment as I did at Cascade Accupuncture in the Dalles with Kara. I immediately felt movement within my body which, when I awakened, had a significant effect on me. My energy shifted, I felt terrific. I am not the type of person who gets depressed but that day I was aware I was starting to get down. After my treatment I felt like a "million bucks". I highly recommend Kara for her expertise and understanding of what works on bringing change to the body. I would also like to recommend Cynthia, the "front woman", the one who schedules you, checks your insurance and gathers all the info on you, the one who makes your visit with Kara go smoothly so you get the most time with Kara. I have not had the pleasure of working with their massage therapist Katy, but being completely booked through the month of March says anything, this being the 5th of March, she is the one to go to. Beautiful group.

Shamsa is intuitive and has 20 years of experience! I saw her first with severe pain radiating from my shoulder. I hadn’t slept through the night in a month. What a complete relief one treatment provided! I have seen practitioners in other areas with results over time. We are so fortunate to have Shamsa in our small community! Seasonal visits are beneficial for humans and animals!
