Dr. Tom Messinger has changed my life. After three doctors in three years I was still feeling terrible with SIBO, joint pain, anemia, very low energy and a general feeling of overwhelm. January 2016 I met with Dr. Tom and was astonished at how thorough and what an EXTRAORDINARY listener he is. He gets a very clear picture of a patient's health, both mind and body. Our conversation plus extensive test results gave Dr. Tom insights and a strategy for getting me back to health. Seven months later I'm feeling better than I have in over a decade. I also met with his resident, Dr. Miklowski as well as Dr. Lasota for homeopathy. After working with those doctors I thought, "Can this be real? These doctors are as smart, thorough and kind as Dr. Tom!" I have transitioned my husband, kids and parents (and a referred a friend) to Dr. Tom and the team at Portland Natural Medicine. After way too many dead ends visits with doctors who dismissed my concerns, Dr. Casey Carpenter’s care has literally been life changing. I’ll never go to a traditional western practitioner again for anything short of a broken bone or heart attack. The entire staff here is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and it’s nice to show up to an office that feels more like a (very clean and sterile) home rather than a clinical lab. Cannot recommend enough!

UPDATE: Jan. 2019 It has been over a year since I relocated to another state to care for a family member and therefore over a year since I received my last treatment from Dr. Messenger. I left Portland with some trepidation as I didin't know if I was ready to be without his care, but I am very happy to report that even though I have not had access to his or any other alternative healing modalities in all this time, my health continued to improve and I feel that I am in remission from the maladies that plagued me. I am able to maintain myself through the basics of health: clean diet and water, exercise, sunning, minimal exposure to emfs, low stress, and lots of gratitude... thank you Tom. I had been suffering miserably for 3 years of steadily declining health and strange symptoms when I first sat sobbing in front of Dr. Tom Messinger in February of 2016. I was crying because his compassion and kind demeanor was such a relief and a contrast to the incompetence that I had become accustomed to from the five "doctors" that preceeded him. He actually listened to me (!) when I described my pathetic list of maladies, he actually did the testing (!) that provided the answers for my debilitating fatigue and pain. It was bad news, but Tom assured me that he could help me. In the ensuing year and a half under his guidance and encouragement, taking natural remedies, and accepting his cutting edge treatments I have had a turn-around in my well-being and have begun putting my life back together.. with optimism! It feels like a miracle. I thank the universe for crossing paths with Tom, Nancy, and Dr. LaSota. Listen up people, this is a man who truly cares about his patients and is a leader in his field and you owe it to yourself and your loved ones to put yourself in his care. Walking through the door of Portland Natural Medicine feels like entering a little oasis of peace and mercy, the friendly front-desk staff keeps the natural medicine machine running smoothly and Angela's and Kaleigh's phlebotomy skills are beyond excellent! All in all they are a great team who will work very hard to restore your health to you.

Dr messinger and all of the staff here were so helpful. Dr messinger really helped me heal tremendously from long term gut problems and mold problems. I had so much pain, fatigue and inflammation in my body for many years. I saw him regularly. He has helped me more than the collective efforts of all the other doctors I've probably ever seen in my life. I'd recommend him and this place to anyone.

Tom is knowledgeable and a proficient guide in the realms of heavy metal toxicity, hormonal health, all things related to gut health, mold toxicity, Lyme disease and more. I trust him to be an honest and responsible in his treatments of patients. He has led me unto major discoveries about life and the state of my health, and has respectfully engaged me when I brought my own issues, questions, and concerns to the table. I highly recommend Dr. Tom Messinger and Portland Natural Medicine. My health has steadily improved over two years of working with him: I've lost over 100 pounds, my intestinal problem is gone, my auto-immune disease is in remission, my risk for heart problems has gone way down, and overall I feel much better since working with him. He is so patient, kind, attentive, lets me ask all the questions I want, and really is genuinely concerned for my overall wellbeing. He's very knowledgeable and explains things to help me better help myself. I also have seen Dr. Ashley Olberg and Dr. Lesya Lasota, and highly recommend them as well. Again, caring, attentive, listen, let me ask questions, and similarly I can tell their treatments have helped me also. The staff are wonderful, as is the office. Again, I recommend the practice highly.

The doctors at this practice are all so very knowledgable and compassionate, I feel incredibly lucky to have found them! If I can’t get in to see my primary doc, there is a lovely assistant that takes just as excellent care of my needs. They are truly caring practitioners here and I recommend them to everyone who asks!

I have been trying to get my regular doctors to help me figure out my gut issues. I decided to just pay out of pocket and found Dr. Silverman. She listens and is the only person so far who has helped at all. For the first time in a long time I feel like I have a chance at getting better. Money well spent. I highly recommend her.

Nothing against them as doctors but to reach you is incredibly difficult. The number provided on here is out of service and I am desperately searching for a natural health doctor due to chronic Lyme disease. If anyone knows of any please help. I’m in desperate need.
